Sapna  Singh, Bay Area Office

Sapna Singh was admitted to the California State in December 2001. Prior to joining Goldman, Magdalin & Krikes, LLP, she has worked as in-house counsel for two insurance companies, as well as an applicant attorney. Having worked on both sides, Ms. Singh uses her experience to focuses on early settlements. She graduated from Santa Clara University 2001 with an LLM degree. She is a certified legal specialist in Worker's Compensation law since 2014. Ms. Singh proudly volunteers her time as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for kids in the dependency system and is the current President on the Board of San Mateo Community Colleges Foundation.

David B. Kerrane, Orange County Office

Mr. Kerrane received his Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of California, San Diego, and his Juris Doctor from University of San Diego, School of Law. Mr. Kerrane was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1998.

Mr. Kerrane started his career at a well-known insurance company as a claims adjuster, handling auto collision and homeowner’s liability claims. Following his graduation from law school in 1998, Mr. Kerrane practiced both civil litigation and Workers’ Compensation defense. He has extensive experience defending against industrial injury claims, as well as discrimination and serious and willful petitions. His civil litigation experience includes contract disputes, employment, wage and hour law, premises liability, and probate\elder abuse cases. Mr. Kerrane has successfully obtained defense verdicts and favorable judgments both at trial and binding arbitration. He continues to work in the workers’ compensation arena representing both large and small employers and their carriers. He has appeared before all Southern California workers’ compensation boards, as well as several Northern California boards.

Mr. Kerrane is also an experienced public speaker having presented Workers’ Compensation seminars to many clients.

Hielam  Chan, Bay Area Office

Hielam Chan received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis in International Relations in 2004. He continued his education at UC Davis and received his Juris Doctorate from King Hall in 2009 and was admitted to the State Bar of California that same year.

Mr. Chan is a career defense attorney and practiced at an Am Law 100 firm and a top tech company prior to specializing in workers’ compensation defense. Mr. Chan also practiced at the largest workers’ compensation defense firm in California before joining Goldman, Magdalin & Krikes, LLP. Currently, Mr. Chan represents employers, self-insured entities, insurance carriers and third-party administrators in all areas of workers’ compensation defense.

Mark L. Riggenbach, Sacramento Office

Mr. Riggenbach received his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado at Denver in business administration in 1992 and managed a business in the construction materials industry prior to attending law school. Mr. Riggenbach obtained his law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2001 and has been practicing in the area of workers compensation defense since 2002.

Mr. Riggenbach’s philosophy in practice is to provide the most effective and efficient representation and to resolve cases as soon as possible. Mr. Riggenbach has represented employers, insurance companies and TPAs in all areas of workers compensation including 132a and serious and willful claims and argued before the Court of Appeals of the State of California, Third Appellate District. Mr. Riggenbach has prepared and presented several seminars on issues ranging from liens to commutations, workers’ compensation 101 to legislative and case updates.

Barbara B. Thompson, Los Angeles Office

Barbara Thompson received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine in 1979 and her Juris Doctor from the Pepperdine School of Law in Malibu in 1989. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1989.

Ms. Thompson has spent most of her legal career handling all aspects of workers’ compensation matters, representing the interest of both applicants and employers. She also practiced Employment & Labor Law for major institutional clients in both State and Federal courts and Workers’ Compensation Appeals Boards.

Since joining GMK in 2018, Ms. Thompson defends all aspects of workers’ compensation claims, including defense of Serious and Willful actions, 132a claims, coverage issues and subrogation. She expects to receive her LLM in Alternative Dispute Resolution from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in May 2018.

Amanda L. Rocha, Sacramento Office

Amanda Rocha received an undergraduate degree in History from California State University, Stanislaus, in 2013, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco in 2017. She received a certificate in Labor and Employment Law from USF, and was the president of the Labor and Employment Law Student Association. Throughout her undergraduate program and while attending law school, Ms. Rocha worked full time at various law firms. She started as a mailroom clerk with Goldman, Magdalin & Krikes, LLP in 2006, and held various positions in multiple GMK offices throughout the years. During law school, Ms. Rocha was a paralegal for a civil litigation firm handling employment law cases. Prior to re-joining GMK, she was a law clerk and later an associate attorney at a boutique civil litigation firm in San Francisco.

Ms. Rocha is admitted to the State Bar of California and a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco.

Michelle M. White, Orange County Office

Michelle White received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Biola University majoring in history and graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2003. Thereafter, she obtained her Juris Doctorate from Santa Clara Law School. After passing the bar in 2007, she has been solely practicing Workers Compensation Defense. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening.

Brian F. Harrison, Ventura County Office

Brian Harrison obtained his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of California at Irvine, and graduated magna cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in May, 2007. He has been practicing workers’ compensation law since 2008.

Prior to joining Goldman, Magdalin & Krikes he worked as house counsel for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company handling workers’ compensation cases, and subsequently worked for outside counsel practicing workers’ compensation defense law involving both private employers and government entities.

Nandita  Swamy, Orange County Office

Ms Nandita Swamy graduated from UC Hastings College of Law and was admitted to the California Bar in 2009. Before joining Goldman, Magdalin & Krikes LLP, she worked as in-house counsel for AIG handling their workers’ compensation claims. Prior to practicing workers’ compensation law, she worked for a small company handling transactional matters. Ms. Swamy handles all aspects of workers’ compensation claims for employers, carriers and Third Party Administrators.
