Abel  Calderon, Jr., Sacramento Office

Abel Calderon, Jr.Abel Calderon, Jr. received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s Seminary College in Camarillo, California in Philosophy and Spanish Literature with a minor in Psychology. He received his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, California. Before joining Goldman, Magdalin & Krikes, LLP, Mr. Calderon was a lien representative for several years handling appearances before the WCAB.

Mr. Calderon is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and the Mexican American Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before all California State Courts and U.S. District Court. Mr. Calderon also did pro bono work for the KIND (Kids in Need of Defense), a non-profit organization.

Mr. Calderon is a certified specialist in Workers' Compensation.


Jeffrey M. Soll, Los Angeles Office

Jeffrey M. SollJeff Soll received his undergraduate degree from the University of California at San Diego in 2003 where he majored in political science and minored in law & society. He received his Juris Doctorate degree from University of La Verne College of Law in 2006 where he was a senior staff writer and technical editor for law review of the Journal of Juvenile Law. Prior to joining Goldman, Magdalin, & Krikes, LLP, Mr. Soll worked at Chernow and Lieb as in-house counsel for Zenith Insurance Company handling workers’ compensation subrogation and civil litigation matters throughout all of Southern California. Mr. Soll is a member of the State Bar of California.


Danny S. Barwald, Los Angeles Office

Danny S. Barwald

Mr. Barwald has extensive experience defending worker’s compensation cases since 1991.  Most of his defense work has been as outside counsel where he has represented self insured employers, high deductible employers, and insurance clients.  He was also staff counsel for the Hartford, and Kemper.   His experience includes training claims personnel and providing counsel at file review meetings.  

He graduated from Whittier College School of Law in 1989 where he was on the Dean’s List and Honor Roll, received a Dean’s Merit Scholarship (awarded to the top 10 students after the first year of study), worked as a teaching assistant in Legal Process and was a member of the Law Review.  He was admitted to the California State Bar in January 1990. 

Mr. Barwald earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Connecticut in 1984, and served as President and Comptroller of the Undergraduate Student Government.

Mr. Barwald is a certified specialist in workers' compensation.
